"GPS generator PRO" can operate in three modes: Map mode. In this mode user chooses a map file, start, finish coordinates (geodetic lat/lon) and speed. "GPS generator" calculates heading and current coordinates and then generates GPS output data. Current simulated position and heading are shown on the map. During a simulation heading and speed can be changed. File mode. In this mode uses chooses NMEA log file and position in it. "GPS generator" reads NMEA sentences and shows current position on the map. During a simulation current reading position in file can be changed (move forward and backward). In this mode previously gathered GPS log data can be replayed (including GPS log, written in map mode). Route mode. In this mode uses specifies a set of waypoints which form a route and assigns a speed value on segments of the route. GPS Generator emulates movement along this route by changing position from the first waypoint to the last one. This software can be used with a hardware null-modem (COM port - rs232) cable or a virtual serial port software. Generated NMEA 0183 sentences can be saved to a file or be given to other software through COM port. The sentences are recognized by any NMEA compatible mapping software. Thus mapping or navigation software will work with this generator as with a real GPS receiver. Also an option to generate random CRC error in NMEA protocol can be set. This feature can be used to test GPS software stability.
